Hybrid energy initiatives are projects or programs that utilize inactive fossil fuel infrastructure and landscapes to house clean technologies or create green jobs. They are tools of transition in fossil fuel economies, capable of either maintaining the status quo and further reifying exploitative relationships, or helping to transform extractive economies into regenerative futures.
