HYBRID ENERGY INITIATIVES
What energy futures are under construction?

Hybrid energy initiatives are projects or programs that utilize inactive fossil fuel infrastructure and landscapes to house clean technologies or create green jobs. They are often framed as tools of transition in fossil fuel economies and are capable of either maintaining the status quo or helping to transform extractive economies into regenerative futures.

This study explores how innovation and technology shape both the material and the sociopolitical aspects of energy futures in Canada and the United States.
